large, thick, green leaves with an evident dark purple edge - a bit cumbersome to root - be patient and do not overwater - a gorgeous yellow and salmon colored flower - has a scent that is not pleasant or offensive but difficult to describe - scent is described as chlorine bleach to some - this plant literally throws out active peduncles in groups of 3-6 on new vines before the leaves form at the nodes - recently lumped into the Hoya vitellina clan
"Lavishly beautiful large teardrop leaves, ironed flat, their olive green surfaces covered in a crackling of pale veins and bordered in a rich coffee stain. The huge umbels of adorably blunt-tipped flowers glow in a spectrum of sunny citrus shades, and have a legendary odor, which can only be considered an unexpected joke." - JLD
